SLudlow Report post Posted February 6, 2014 Recently purchased a Singer 45k50, looks like she needs a new shuttle race complete. On an off chance, anyone know of a source for one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Thanks in advance!
Wizcrafts Report post Posted February 7, 2014 Recently purchased a Singer 45k50, looks like she needs a new shuttle race complete. On an off chance, anyone know of a source for one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Thanks in advance! Have you contacted any of our supporting and contributing industrial sewing machine dealers? Most have ad banners on top of every page on these forums. You've got Leather Machine Company, Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines and Techsew as advertisers here. Plus, Gregg at Keystone Sewing and Dan at Campbell-Randall are contributing dealer-members.
SLudlow Report post Posted February 7, 2014 I have not contacted them, but I'll make a few calls here soon as I'd be thrilled to go through one of them! I didn't think any carried vintage machine parts, however.
Constabulary Report post Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) If you don´t have luck at the mentioned dealers you can find it on Ebay www.ebay.com/itm/290723344373 Edited February 7, 2014 by Constabulary
SLudlow Report post Posted February 7, 2014 Thanks for the ebay heads up, that'll be my last resort if I'm unable to find the part elsewhere. Talked with Toledo this morning, unfortunantely no luck.
SLudlow Report post Posted February 7, 2014 Welp, talked with Ed this morning at Indianapolis Sewing Machine Co. after speaking with Bob from Toledo. Got some good prices for the parts needed, but asked Ed what his personal opinion regarding the machine was, and I think we both came to the understanding that the poor old girl is just worn out. She's been run hard for a long time, and now it's time for her to go out to pasture. Always a risk when you get an old machine!
