ikewineb Report post Posted March 29, 2014 This is a little off topic, though not completely. I see people on etsy and the like that are making the actual chains for wallets. How do you do that? Does anyone have any sources or info on the process. I've done a few round braid chains, but nothing with metal, as of yet. I have the premade chain links where you just cut the chain to length and attach your end pieces, but that's not really the same. Any info would be helpful. LTC Report post Posted March 31, 2014 i make wallet chains and sell them. mine are pretty much the best you can get. i'm mostly self-taught though. like others on here with leather work it's taken me decades of learning, practice, and experience to get where i am now. most of the crap chains i see for sale on etsy are made of aluminum and look and feel VERY cheap and cheesy. Jason Austin Report post Posted March 31, 2014 Yeah nothing ruins a nice wallet like a cheapo chain. At http://theringlord.com you can get all the rings you can imagine and they also have instructions on how to do various chain weaves. It is really quite easy to do.
