paprhangr Report post Posted April 17, 2014 very Good lots of cushion for soft ride.I am trying to understand the way you sew the pieces together, like making a bag stitched from the inside?
billio8 Report post Posted April 17, 2014 let's see if I can explain the first sewing machine parts must be made with leather and with soft leather on the side and then the beautiful soft leather to be folded and made the second seam
paprhangr Report post Posted April 17, 2014 Ok, can you post a picture of the bottom side. Thanks

paprhangr Report post Posted April 21, 2014 thanks, Im beginning to understand, you use veggie tan for top and bottom what do you use for the side pices? how do you fit on to the pan/pad?
paprhangr Report post Posted April 26, 2014 After sewing top to sides, how do you sew the bottom piece so you can fit tight over the pan? Is bottom stapled?
billio8 Report post Posted April 26, 2014 Use leather 3 mm in the upper part, while leather from 1 mm in the lateral parts, to start stitching and Permare lateral part of the upper use staples that pathologist just finished seam the lower part of the saddle is not sewn but only with staples
paprhangr Report post Posted April 26, 2014 thanks again, beginning to see, can you post a picture of the bottom of the seat. is the pan steel or fiberglass? after making the upper seem, do you pull the staples out?
billio8 Report post Posted May 1, 2014 I have no photos because the bottom has already been delivered to the customer. under the saddle is made of plastic and attached with staples original honda I will also work next photo in the saddle
paprhangr Report post Posted May 1, 2014 (edited) Thanks for sharing, I have only made 4 Bobber seats first three I used the round braid, takes a lot of time. just the braiding took me 12hrs.I bought a industrial machine And learning to use it, on my last seat I wet molded top and bottom, then machined sewed the top and bottom together it' was so quick, 30 minutes to sew. I like machine sewing. They way you sewed your seat using 3 pieces is interesting, I have made a couple bags making the hem on the inside then flip it. Your seat is kinda like that. paprhangr Report post Posted May 6, 2014 I can see now your seat is 2 pieces, side piece wraps under to the bottom, pulled tight and stapled. right? guess would only work with plastic pan
billio8 Report post Posted May 8, 2014 may also work with fund under metalla just stop with glue and will not detract
paprhangr Report post Posted May 9, 2014 Not sure I understand what you are trying to tell me.
billio8 Report post Posted May 10, 2014 if the seat bottom is made of metal can be locked only with leather glue
paprhangr Report post Posted May 10, 2014 Thanks for explaining, would Barge contact cement will hold leather to the metal seat pan? Don't need to put in rivets?
billio8 Report post Posted May 13, 2014 Use putty universal bostik, before smear caulk on a saddle and leather, after about 10 minutes join the party to block it, smear on the entire surface of metal and leather mastic and fabric lie thick on the seat bottom and is not removed for more nothing he screws rivets
