Members Highlands858 Posted April 29, 2014 Members Report Posted April 29, 2014 I'm making a belt sheath for a knife with a really wide guard. What is the simplest way to attach the sheath to a belt without having that guard get in the way all the time? Thanks! Quote

The wedge shaped welt can allow a bit more room, but with a guard as thick as you show, it may be problematic. The other option is to do it like the old time sword makers and hang the belt loop off of a separate attachment. Keeping the knife in the sheath would be depending on gravity and blade length. Short blade with big guard can be a challenge. Quote
Members Dwight Posted April 30, 2014 Members Report Posted April 30, 2014 I've done this both ways, . . . see drawing below. May God bless, Dwight Quote
