electrathon Posted May 11, 2014 Report Posted May 11, 2014 Nook cover. Embossed with a cat, because Debbie likes cats. Quote
Members lederfun Posted May 11, 2014 Members Report Posted May 11, 2014 Looks great! Matches my taste perfectly! What kind of leather did you use? Looks like you used elastics to hold the nook in place. Is that correct? Quote
electrathon Posted May 11, 2014 Author Report Posted May 11, 2014 It is made from about 5 oz veg tan, lined with pig there is a stiffener in the back, made from X-ray film. The corner straps are elastic, it took me a few tries to get the placement of the slots correct. The cat is embossed with a printing block, pressed in. Background is a Bob Beard background tool. Hope this pic is clearer. Quote
Members benlilly1 Posted May 11, 2014 Members Report Posted May 11, 2014 Looks great, Aaron! Yes, the second photo is a lot better. Quote
Members clintsdivco Posted May 12, 2014 Members Report Posted May 12, 2014 That looks good Aaron. Very different. Never thought of imprinting like that in leather, do you use some sort of press? I'll be coming back to the Portland area again in July and staying until September, I'll have to look you up again. Clint Quote
electrathon Posted May 12, 2014 Author Report Posted May 12, 2014 It is pushed in with a book press. You can use a clamp and two blocks on smaller ones. If you are going to be in Portland for September you could go to the Bob Beard class. Quote

I have to leave the Portland area by Sept, 3rd so looks like I will miss the Bob Beard class. Wish I could stay longer. Quote
