Cobra 18 Threading

Recommended Posts

Hey folks,

I just received my new Cobra 18 yesterday and am having difficulty with the treading. The "manual" is of little to no help. The detail is horrible and my machine has parts on it that don't show up in the diagram. I tried following the test threading that came with the machine, but it all went bad when I got to the two tension(?) discs.....the instructional diagram only shows one disc as well as "hooks" that don't show up on the actual machine. I did a YouTube search for something akin to the Al Bane video for the Cobra 4, but no luck. Anyone have a good threading diagram or source for threading the Cobra 18.

I have a Cobra 4 as well and love Steve's machines and customer service, but the manual could use a good makeover!

Thanks in advance,

Rick

They didn't have it? You'd think for a couple $1 it would come with a legible manual ...

Here's a video we did for this machine a few years back, the quality isn't great but it'll do!

Ron,

Thanks for posting the video link......it helped tremendously! Got things working as they should, tensions properly adjusted, stitches look good and now I'm ready to make something.

JLS,

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed with the documentation......the diagrams/drawings are not very accurate renditions of the machine that was shipped to me. Fortunately, I just needed a nudge on the threading issue and now it's all good.

Thanks again for your comments/assistance.

Rick

Typing error in my post. That should have said for a couple $1k .. as in for $2-grand, you'd think we could print a manual ... or at least have a .pdf that's legible.
