From the post he had on here, apparently all he has done is taken a cheap India made pin vise......mounted it in a super expensive wood handle, and ground out an awl blade for it. A pin vise that is smooth on the inside like the cheapo India vise he used is not the ideal way to hold most awl No sir I have and use one often. oltoot Report post Posted May 27, 2014 I have 2 and they are great, pretty too! The pin vises work fine for me. I keep several awls on hand (I have seven on the bench, now) and do not change blades but leave them. The ergonomics are excellent and help with the appearance of my work.
