camano ridge Report post Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) Not sure what you are defining as really, nice, solid. By exclusive do you mean custom made for you? Is this for hard sided or soft brifcases, are you looking for hinges, latches, locks, corner caps? Here are some places to look, if you have not already done so. Ohio Travel Bag Hardware elf http://www.hardwareelf.com/elf/latchesandlocks.jsp scroll down toward bottom of page. Woodcraft.com search for briefcase hardware Rockler.com http://www.rockler.com/woodworking/Briefcase-Hardware thebuckleguy.com http://www.buckleguy.com/key-locks/ http://www.crestlock.net/Combination-Locks_c4.htm Edited May 18, 2014 by camano ridge
Bifrost Report post Posted May 18, 2014 Thanks for all of the links but It's not quite what i'm looking for! English is not my native language, but I will try to explain myself better. With exclusive I mean luxuary hardware. Not just thin hardware made out of sheet metal. I want solid hardware , maybe cast parts in silver or bronze that you can actually feel the weight of the metal when you are holding it in your hand . A high price is not a problem if the quality matches the price. Maybe someone have Links to people making handmade or custom hardware.
Bifrost Report post Posted May 18, 2014 It's for soft briefcases. The hardware i'm looking for is mainly Closure and D-ring hardware.
celticleather Report post Posted May 21, 2014 Abbey England (www.abbeyengland.com) have a fair range of solid brass case fittings and locks. Navigate through to their Liston Locks & Fittings page (http://www.abbeyengland.com/Store/tabid/77/CategoryID/201/Category2ID/110/Level/2/List/1/language/en-GB/Default.aspx). They are not cheap, but the quality is good.
