rowneyart Report post Posted August 2, 2014 Hi there, I wondered if anybody know whether it is possible to get a pattern/template to make a satchel. I have been making journal covers for quite some time now but would like to try some new work. Any advise is greatly appreciated
billybopp Report post Posted August 2, 2014 Satchel is a pretty broad term. Can you be more specific?
Needle Crook Report post Posted August 2, 2014 Just get some pattern paper and make some templates. You can make it exactly how you want!
MonicaJacobson Report post Posted August 5, 2014 Hi Mark, I think you'd be surprised at how easy it can be to make your own template. Just use a straight edge and a square and round the corners with something handy. Sometimes I draw out all the separate pieces on a piece of paper just to make sure I've actually thought it through before I start cutting. Unfortunately, since I've always made my own, I don't really know where you can get any, but I have noticed a shop on etsy that sells patterns: https://www.etsy.com/shop/LZpattern . I've never tried any, but I really like the look of some of their products. And they have three or four free tutorials on there that look pretty informative. Kustom Report post Posted August 5, 2014 http://www.bighousedaddy.com/business_satchel.htm This looks very nice. I've never bought a pattern from him, but I did talk to him on the phone once. Nice guy.
