short art Report post Posted August 31, 2014 Hi all ,I am not what you would call a leather worker the presant time, I am doing a friend a good turn by making the legs for her three legged "saddle stool" ? Gump Report post Posted August 31, 2014 The original legs for those stools were about 1" in diameter and had a slight taper leading to a rounded end of about 3/4". The taper you have is like a knife edge and will poke through. Your square legs will work, but they must be rounded on the end so that they push a lump up in the top and bottom pieces so the end of the leg can't reach the lacing. Gump. You can use dowls and round them off a little . You can conect the dowels with a ring or a tri bolt.
