Members Sharon Mallory Posted September 18, 2014 Members Report Posted September 18, 2014 I live in Phoenix and there is a store here that sells industrial machines. They do repairs also. I called to see if they take trade ins because they sell cylinder machine and I would like to get one eventually. He asked what I had to trade in and I told him flat bed Artisan leather. He said they wouldn't take Artisan because they find they don't last as long as juki. I've had my machine two years and it works great I just miss the free arm. Does anyone know about this Artisan not lastin? I sew bags. They sell the ferdco and juki. Any suggestions? If you buy one that has to ship that's tough, right? Quote
Members Itch Posted September 18, 2014 Members Report Posted September 18, 2014 I would look for another dealer.. Quote
Members Sharon Mallory Posted September 19, 2014 Author Members Report Posted September 19, 2014 So is it your opinion that the Artisan is a good brand? They have that kind where I my flat bed. Quote
Members Colt W Knight Posted September 19, 2014 Members Report Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) I bet you could sell that machine out right locally. I watched the classifieds for 6-7 months in Arizona for a used leather machine, and used machines very rarely came up for sale. When they did, they typically sold for a pretty high price. Members SkullCanyon Posted September 19, 2014 Members Report Posted September 19, 2014 I also tried to trade with that company, ( begins with R), on a perfect Highlead machine I have. They did not respond after the initial conversation. I sent them a boat load of pictures at there request and never heard back at all. They lost a sale as I found what I was looking for on this forum and had to make a trip to pick up the cylinder arm Cowboy 4500. I guess I would use them for repair work as they seem to be the only game in town. They are Juki dealers and apparently that is all they want to deal with. Your Artisan is a fine machine and I would put it on craigslist and see what happens. Keep your eyes on this forum, good machines come up for sale fairly regular. You might have to travel some for a good deal. Quote
Members Sharon Mallory Posted September 19, 2014 Author Members Report Posted September 19, 2014 It's not in the best part of town either. Mulqueens is a juki, artisan a md brother dealer and could get me an artisan but they only seem to be 9" long and the others are longer so I think if I get a new one it should be the last one as I'm tired of trading up! How do you like the cowboy? Quote
Members SkullCanyon Posted September 19, 2014 Members Report Posted September 19, 2014 The Cowboy is a great machine for me. I kept my flatbed Highlead as well and go back and forth between the two. I would hold out for the 16" arm cylinder if I were you. You'll need the reach at some point. Quote
