These are my 2nd pair of square cuts and first pair with spots. They were made for the husband of the lady that I built the lady wade saddle forSuzy011.JPG All the leather came from Sheridan Leather.

I like them. The fringe hangs good, and they look like a good working fit. I like how you worked in the initials. Nice job

Beautiful work although I don't care for the square cut. To me they look like they're wearing a short person's chaps. We all have different tastes.

You did a great job on them. I really like your work.

Nice work Elton. I don't like square cut or the studs but there is no accounting for a persons tastes when you are building custom stuff. great work though buddy.

Elton, One thing I notice on the carving that could be different, is at the stem split you backgrounded over to border, but left the rest of backgrounded untooled around the design. IMHO the design needs to be backgrounded all the way around to the borders or the area at the split should have been left unbackgrounded like the rest of the areas along the border. Also a couple stems could have been run over to the corners by the buckle to fill in that space and balance the design. Try to keep your background area sizes consistent, and the design will keep a balanced look. Please keep in mind I am saying to be helpful, not to criticize. Over all they are very nice chinks and I am sure your customer will be thrilled with them. -Brian

Brian, thanks for the input. I had originally not bargrounded those areas but then for some stupid reason I decided to!! Almost started over had he not been coming to get them the next morning!! He was also adamant that the tooling was done this way. I would have normally run a set stamp to fill in the balance but he just wanted borders on the rest.
