I had a small piece of gator just sitting around. I glued it to a piece of calf skin from Springfield. Cut it out, stitched it and painted the edges.

It needed a shine so I used Fiebings yellow soap and buffed it. Not sure if it's supposed to be used on gator but it looks much better. Darkened a little and shined up nice.

Sweet! How are you going to close it? I want some alligator, too!

Not sure yet. Had a few ideas. I thought about punching holes and putting a thin shoelace in to tie it up.

Too late now but a thin metal strip between the calfskin and gator could have helped close it by bending it around the wrist.

Might have to just stitch on a few other pieces with a buckle.

As strong as the thin magnets they sell now I think they would be good for these. Strip magnet real thin sewn in and a sheet metal strip in the other side . Anyone ever try it I'm thinking on trying but haven't yet . Gary
