This was a quick project I put together for a lady who wanted a leather handle for a wooden case she uses to keep craft supplies in.

Hand stitched at 7 spi. 5/18 barbour linen thread.

It looks nice! Is the inside a welt, or is it all one piece?

Thanks,

It looks nice! Is the inside a welt, or is it all one piece?

Thanks Monica, I used one, 3/4 strip, 16 - 17" long, skived about 1" of each end to a feather edge. I folded the strip so that the ends were overlapping, created three layers in the middle.

9tpi, it was 6/7 oz.

I chose to leave the leather natural but conditioned it with Montana Pitch Blend leather dressing.

Nice handle.

Just a few weeks ago, I was looking all over for pics of various handles trying to get an idea for how I wanted to do one. Only after I ended up making the one I used, did I come across the single piece of leather design for them. I think I probably would have used that design.

25b, sorry I don't have a pic of the underside. The customer has picked it up. What I will tell you is that the stitching on the back is not as nice as the front, LOL.

One thing that I forgot to mention is that I glued it up on the round. Used a roll of masking tape as my form :)
