Chief31794 Posted October 19, 2014 Author Report Posted October 19, 2014 Beautiful work, Chief! How do you join the lacing around back and front with the lacing along the edge of the gusset? In other words: How do you split the lacing into branches respectively join two branches? Leather Rudi, The lacing isn't joined exactly it appears to be, I stitch the top of the gussets before assembling the front or back to them and I start and stop the gusset stitch in the holes that will be used to stitch the front or back to the gusset, so both sets of stitching pass through that hole so it appears that they are continuous. I hope I explained it well, it's easier to do than to say. Thanks, Chief Quote "Life's too short to carry ugly leather"

Members silverwingit Posted October 20, 2014 Members Report Posted October 20, 2014 Simply masterful! I like and respect this piece as well as any I've seen you post, Chief. I can do the Mexican Round braid. It's my favorite (I learned it in part from your videos). I'm fine on a straight run but joining runs and hiding the join is something that's beyond me. I too appreciate you explanation. Love it! Inspires me to attempt something like it for myself (when I work up the courage). Michelle Quote
