mike6642 Report post Posted November 5, 2014 I found that hand sewing belts that my fingers and hands bothered me, so I put on my batting gloves and I could pull the thread through and tighten the stitch with ease, and after making holes with awl I could pull needles through the 8 oz. leather with no problem , the wax from the thread got on the gloves giving you a great grip making the needles easy to handle. the gloves are made to fit so as to be able to pick up needles easily. no more sore hands. put leather in stitching pony run awl through 4 inches of leather and have at it, you will be surprised. krappstein Report post Posted November 6, 2014 (edited) Had a similar issue, but gloves make me feel clumsy so I made a pair of these: No more sore pinkies and no dexterity issues either. Edited November 6, 2014 by krappstein
