Members Mungo Posted November 10, 2014 Members Report Posted November 10, 2014 I'm using Eco-Flo Professional Clear Matte finish on an archery arm guard and would like to know if the inside (flesh) needs an application of the finish. My thinking is it probably should so it won't absord water, sweat etc. I'm posting on my exceedingly slow laptop, but will read replies later on my I-Phone, so I'll say thank you now. Quote
Members Eccho Posted November 11, 2014 Members Report Posted November 11, 2014 If you are not going to line the inside, you might want to seal it with Gum Tragacanth. This will seal it as well as allow you to smooth the inside so it does not abrade the skin. While applying the GT simply smooth with a modeling spoon, or a kitchen spoon works even better, as it covers more area quickly, before the GT starts to dry.I use it on some of my cuffs if I am not lining them with pig skin. Members silverwingit Posted November 11, 2014 Members Report Posted November 11, 2014 I'm on a personal campaign against Gum Tragacanth. I feel that it's overused and that there is always a better alternative. In this case its Tan Kote. YMMV Michelle Quote
Members snubbyfan Posted November 12, 2014 Members Report Posted November 12, 2014 I use Tan Kote as a sealer and Gum Trag. for edge burnishing. After burnishing and after the gum trag dries I put a coat or two of Tan Kote over that. Quote
Members cgleathercraft Posted November 12, 2014 Members Report Posted November 12, 2014 I've heard Gum Trag is abrasive against skin....I'm guessing I heard incorrect? I use Tan Kote as well. Quote
