I have a fried that would like me to make a saddle pad with dense rubber foam under the bars for her. I guess she saw one at a horse clinic but the price for the pad was over $270. I am making a saddle for her so I thought I could do it all at once...with your help

TIA

Just back in town from the PBR. Thanks for the resource.

Does anyone have an opinion on all synthetic as compared to all wool or blends?

All wool felt pads are what work the best. Synthetics tend to hold the heat more and that can have negative consequences. And the wool felt molds a bit to the saddle and the horse's back, enhancing saddle fit. When you talk to working cowboys who consistently put in long days in the saddle, they pretty much always use straight wool pads, and that says something to me.
