Plus Juki is a major name in sewing and the machine is proven. Is the Chandler and Adler 267 with the chandler name on it? glenn Please send us pics of each machine. glenn Quote

Cobra Steve Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Adler used to distribute machines with the Chandler name on them back in the late 60's and 70's just like shoepatcher implied. They are no longer in business, but Juki is. I would stick with the Juki. Steve Quote

However, I can not locate any info on what this machine is capable of sewing or what needles and thread to use. I would like to be able to sew two pieces of leather together that are 4-5 oz ea. I've been trying using #69 nylon thread but it sheds at the needle eye and breaks... Quote

Members Gregg From Keystone Sewing Posted November 30, 2015 Members Report Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) I was reading this and working off of memory (a bad thing for me to do, but it worked here) and I recalled an issue that came up years ago, and did some reading from my deleted emails. Hope this helps. The machine being refereed to here is a Nakajima, made in Japan, their model was 280L. This machine then became the Juki DNU-241(HS), and is now superseded by Juki's new and current model DNU-1541(S). Chandler, and independent dealer, would remove tags and brand this machine as "Chandler brand, model C-267". Not to be confused with an Adler 267. See attached image and owners manual to reconfirm this. Parts and accessories are readily available for this machine. Hope this helps, you have two really good Juki type machines there, both are from about the same vintage. Members Constabulary Posted November 30, 2015 Members Report Posted November 30, 2015 Oh - holly crap - I did not know. I only knew Chandler sold the Adler 67 as Chandler 67 so I assumed the C-267 would be the Adler 267. I always learn something new every day! Thanks for the info Gregg! Quote
