Rawhidelady Report post Posted December 13, 2014 I'm trying to find some different lacing fids that will fit better in my small hands. I need a straight one and a curved one. Does anyone know where to get one or you might custom make them ? Thanks

TwinOaks Report post Posted December 13, 2014 Or a few cheap flat head screwdrivers, a few minutes on a belt sander, and a little more time polishing them. If you go the screwdriver route, you should be able to find one that fits your hands pretty easily.
rgerbitz Report post Posted December 17, 2014 Look up the T-ll tennis awl made by Osborne. They are inexpensive and can be easily modified to suit your needs.
kidbeey Report post Posted December 26, 2014 My old whipmaker friend used a three cornered file as a fid. He used the point which had been slightly modified as the fid and when he needed to tighten a strand, he grasped it between his fingers and file edge to get a good grip; it worked a treat.
