I'm trying to find some different lacing fids that will fit better in my small hands.

I need a straight one and a curved one.

Does anyone know where to get one or you might custom make them ?

Thanks :helpsmilie:

Or a few cheap flat head screwdrivers, a few minutes on a belt sander, and a little more time polishing them. If you go the screwdriver route, you should be able to find one that fits your hands pretty easily.

Look up the T-ll tennis awl made by Osborne. They are inexpensive and can be easily modified to suit your needs.

My old whipmaker friend used a three cornered file as a fid. He used the point which had been slightly modified as the fid and when he needed to tighten a strand, he grasped it between his fingers and file edge to get a good grip; it worked a treat.
