Getting A Clicker Press Custom Made?

This is a hypothetical question.

At the moment I don't need a clicker press. Im curious if anyone has done any research on finding how much it would cost to get someone to construct a metal manual clicker press like the one from weaver leather - If its even possible and how large can a manual clicker press be while still using only muscle strength

The price for the weaver leather manual press is around 1500 for a 8 inch by 12 inch so anything under that would be better, a bigger press like a 24 by 12 would be good too.

For those with experience in engineering is it possible to get a clicker of 24 by 12 inches with two pull down handles welded together (like two weaver clickers side by side or one) to cut out large parts like the side of bags. Could a clicker be made with a single huge mechanism to click the entire 24 by 12 or would it be better with two mechanisms, two handles. Would be clicking out bag patterns that need two clicks.

Weaver now do a larger press http://www.weaverleathersupply.com on the whats new page under machinery not cheap though,if you want the swing arm type I'm afraid they won't be cheap.

You may want to contact the people who make the Noya hand clicker based more off the Lucris than the Weaver and see what they say about a bigger one, I believe they are based in Korea. The Lucris ones do come up on Ebay every so often.

Does anyone actually know how to contact Noya/get a price on their press. I can't seem to figure that out.

I would guess a person needs to determine the pull requirement they require. Then go from there to a height for both directions. I really would consider the times one wants or actually can do this process. 

I have heard there is a “ psi figure “ for the amount of blade/ die cutter length, but i do not know this. So doing a lot of small pieces with a single die could be the same as a large bag side, so to say. 

Lets just say this is going to be expensive and then its mechanical.

I have to point out that even with a large swing head hydraulic press doing big knives can be difficult. If you need to click left and right you will end up with bowed knives. Polished sharp knives can reduce the pressure of the cutting a lot. My opinion for what it is worth would say that any knife bigger than a 12" circle would be hard to do with a manual pull down set up. Using a hydraulic jack set up could give you more but the need to get the pressure in the middle is a pain. You can see in there where I tested this set up for small clicking. I am thinking of doing one more for clicking along that construction line but with  double pressing rods actuated by a single hand lever all mounted on top. With 2 rods pushing down together the need to centre up before cutting would be reduced considerably. A bit of metal work drilling mostly would be required and a touch of welding may be necessary. Have you any patterns/pics in mind you would like to cut?
