I decided to take a crack at recovering and refoaming my seat. I added a few pics to give an idea of the steps and stuff and the progress..still working on it ..getting frustrating but I'm getting there lol

doing the sides in alligator...with a double loop stitch kangaroo lacing. will post progress as I go....any comments are always welcome .

I love the way the design, tooling and coloring turned out, it looks great! I can't wait to see it finished. Thanks for sharing.

Man this forum needs a like button, that looks great. I really like the depth you got out of it with all the different colours.

how are you finishing this to the seat base, love the carving.

Are you using the 'double loop kangaroo lacing' for decoration or strength ??

I was planning on stitching the sides onto alligator embossed leather with the double loop kangaroo for strength and then wrapping it under the pan and stapling it.

I'm planning on recovering a 2up mustang seat i found in a dumpster. I want to redo the foam because it absorbed some of the wonderful aromas of its resting place. Did you use a kit with precut foam, or buy the sheets and mold them yourself? I'm thinking about using memory foam over polymer gel, but it's all just research at this point.
