Troy Burch Report post Posted February 12, 2015 I'm guessing he sewed, left the ends between the fold then glued the fold down.
Gregspitz Report post Posted February 12, 2015 usually I have seen the knot is tightened in the hole with one thread front and one thread back..then trim those and the knot shows a little in the back ..use a lighter to seal the short threads??? Gregspitz Report post Posted February 12, 2015 sorry if I am not clear...how do you suppose the knot should be made..?. thanks
dragoncut Report post Posted February 12, 2015 To me it looks like one thread used for both sides. Knot tied under the flap, then flap glued down.
Gregspitz Report post Posted February 12, 2015 How would you tie the knot? Just a square knot ? So sorry I am new to hand sewing except for skin, intestines, arteries and veins as I am a vascular surgeon. New to the leather thing and only doing this for a year or so. Good thing is the leather does not need anesthesia! Thanks for your patience and answers.
Troy Burch Report post Posted February 12, 2015 sure a square knot will work, just tap it flat. With the thread going twice thru the holes it probly doesn't need a knot with a good glue like Barge.
Gregspitz Report post Posted February 13, 2015 Thanks so much. I guess I was thinking it was more complicated! Have a great night!
