My first leather project

Recommended Posts

Leatherstuff_028.jpgThis is the first thing I ever made of leather about a year ago. Still have it too, darn it. I was hoping it would sell pretty quick, until reality set in. LOL I'll have to set up at some shows this summer. I dont think it was too bad for a first shot. Thanks again for looking!

It's very nice!

Don't fret, I have some pieces for years before they sell. I tell myself there is the right person for that project, and not to keep lowering the price and cheating myself.

very nice bag. believe me ive been doing shows for years and sometimes things dont sell.Ive also had it already that they insisted on haveing my personal item and literally buying right off of me. so it can go both ways. just keep trying n find the right item which never is one cause evewry show is different. Thanks everyone! Yeah Deb, I've never used a pattern for anything in leather. I've borrowed ideas before, but always designed it myself. I was a tool & die maker for twenty years before becoming disabled. I guess that gave me pretty good training in design and working with my hands. Theres a huge difference between steel and leather, but the concept is about the same. I didnt realize how satisfying it is to take a piece of leather and turn it into something useful and sometimes(for me) pleasing to the eye. Geez, I hope I didnt bore you with my life story. LOL Sorry.
