SantaFeMarie Report post Posted April 4, 2015 Nice! Could you tell me about your painting materials and technique? Specifically, I'm wondering it is necessary to use some kind of clear topcoat or sealant to keep the paint from rubbing off.

tatehunt Report post Posted April 7, 2015 Nice! Could you tell me about your painting materials and technique? Specifically, I'm wondering it is necessary to use some kind of clear topcoat or sealant to keep the paint from rubbing off. I use a clear varnish spray, made to seal acrylic paints. I Mask off the area, and apply a few coats. I then apply my standard finish (a light wax) followed by a mink oil or Aussie Wax. I brush on my acrylics and build up color/opacity over a number of coats, which helps to keep the paint from chipping, peeling, or scratching off. From the outside it looks well thought out, and stitched with pride, but, i sure would like a peek at that inside with calfskin. --- Wild Bill46 I will take an interior shot and post it.
