jstar61 Report post Posted April 10, 2015 I bought a side of oil tanned motorcycle bag leather from Springfield, and was wondering what the best way to finish it is. The first piece I will be making is a fork bag for a friend.
Tugadude Report post Posted April 11, 2015 Not certain what you mean by finishing it. It is already water resistant and doesn't necessarily need anything. But not sure you meant the surface or what.
jstar61 Report post Posted April 12, 2015 I just wasn't sure if it would benefit from any conditioner or additional treatment.
Tugadude Report post Posted April 12, 2015 Not sure, but there are many on the forum that make leather goods for bikers. Hopefully they can chime in.
Christianlikeswhiskey Report post Posted April 14, 2015 I use chrome tanned leather for my motorcycle bags and really do not apply much to finish it as it already has a weather proof finish. The most I would say to do is just go over it with some leather lotion! Cheers!
