Finishing Motorcycle Bag Leather

Recommended Posts

I bought a side of oil tanned motorcycle bag leather from Springfield, and was wondering what the best way to finish it is.

The first piece I will be making is a fork bag for a friend.

Not certain what you mean by finishing it. It is already water resistant and doesn't necessarily need anything. But not sure you meant the surface or what.

I just wasn't sure if it would benefit from any conditioner or additional treatment.

Not sure, but there are many on the forum that make leather goods for bikers. Hopefully they can chime in.

I use chrome tanned leather for my motorcycle bags and really do not apply much to finish it as it already has a weather proof finish. The most I would say to do is just go over it with some leather lotion!

Cheers!
