Members bullmanjay Posted May 18, 2015 Members Report Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) How'd do you attain this almost natural color? Steps and required liquids please... Edited May 18, 2015 by bullmanjay Quote
Thor Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 Those are two different techniques. The first may be just antique gel or the background being separately colored with a brush and antiqued then. The second one is a filigree and a colored liner in the back. Quote
Members bullmanjay Posted May 18, 2015 Author Members Report Posted May 18, 2015 What color of antique do you think those are? Quote
Thor Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 If the colors are not altered too much by the camera it should be mahogany. Quote
terrymac Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 Looks to me like fist example the background was dyed and then finished with something like Clearlac and second example simply finished with Clearlac. Leather may have oiled applied before finish. Terry Quote
