Members pella Posted January 25, 2008 Members Report Posted January 25, 2008 Hello, I am looking for a pair of stirrups which would be correct for my 1850s`hope saddle. Can you advise. I am going to Buffalo Texas for a trail ride which ends in the Houston stadium before the rodeo starts and I would like to show it off. Thanks so much. Jack in Montreal, Canada Quote
Members Hidemechanic Posted January 27, 2008 Members Report Posted January 27, 2008 Pella, from the research I have done with my limited library, the stirrup you are looking for is an unbound military stirrup that you can get from Weaver Leather. You could leave it bare or cover it with a hood or short tapadaro and be reasonably period correct. Do you have a picture of your out fit? I'd like to see it. Good luck and have a blast on your ride.GH Quote
Members keplerts Posted April 3, 2015 Members Report Posted April 3, 2015 I know this is an old thread, but, the stirrups in the picture on the bottom right has an angled face on one side and a straight face on the other. Which side would I mount tapadaro's too? The side with the angle?? Thanks, Tom Quote
