Chief31794 Posted June 20, 2015 Author Report Posted June 20, 2015 That is a beauty Chief. Thanks Rohn. Chief that is beautiful. I can't quite wrap my had around how it's made. You use a regular buckle blank and then put the two layers on it, with the braid? An envelope so to speak with the metal completely sandwiched between the leather? Thanks, Cheryl Cheryl, that is exactly how it's done. You can get the blanks and precut leather pieces from Tandy, SLC, etc. Or you can get the blanks and cut your own Leather. This picture shows more detail of the back so you can see how it's done a little better. Chief Quote "Life's too short to carry ugly leather"
Members DoubleC Posted June 20, 2015 Members Report Posted June 20, 2015 Thanks Chief. I've had the blanks before to use for hair barrettes LOL and still have the bottoms. But I thought they went inside the buckle. I then I lookeed at one I made years ago and the leather fully covered the buckle. I will have to try one of these while I still have some roo left, LOL. Members BondoBobCustomSaddles Posted June 20, 2015 Members Report Posted June 20, 2015 Does it make the owner play better? If so, I am going to have to make two or three for myself! Nice work Chief. Bob Quote
