Members bobbydale88 Posted August 9, 2015 Members Report Posted August 9, 2015 Does anyone know if acrylic leather paint like Angelus and Fiebings is more durable than acrylic craft paint from Hobby Lobby? I know Angelus is supposed to go on smoother and they have really good colors, but does it last longer on the leather? Quote
Moderator immiketoo Posted August 9, 2015 Moderator Report Posted August 9, 2015 It does, as it is specifically meant for leather, however, I like Golden paints much better than Angelus. Quote Learnleather.com
Moderator Art Posted August 9, 2015 Moderator Report Posted August 9, 2015 I use Liquitex, the medium weight. From what I can tell, there isn't much difference in quality brands; I never have tried Angelus, Fiebing's are ok though. Use the "dry brush" technique, kinda like Bob Ross used to do. Go over it as much as necessary to cover, but small lite coats will stand-up better than thick heavy ones. After you are finished you should cover with something, some (me) use Acrylic Resolene, again thin coats sprayed. I don't do a lot of this, so pay absolutely no attention to anything I said.
