ipenned Report post Posted September 11, 2015 I've simply been calling the color on this sofa a rustic orange-brown, but I'd like to get a more accurate color if I were to get a dye for it. Thanks in advance!

ipenned Report post Posted September 11, 2015 Brown! jr But there are so many shades of brown, that when I ask for brown and think of the color in the above image, someone else will think of a completely different shade of brown.
stelmackr Report post Posted September 11, 2015 That leather does not appear to be a single color of dye. The tannery must have treated it with several dye stuffs to obtain the worn/distressed finish. Take a look at several of the upholstery leather suppliers and see what they have to offer as a finished product for your use. I wouldn't know how to evenly dye a full hide to get those colors from bright to dark so evenly dispersed. Good luck. Bob Stelmack
ipenned Report post Posted September 12, 2015 (edited) After looking around a bit, I believe the color is Cognac with a distressed finish, such as what's on this bag: Edited September 12, 2015 by ipenned
Wild Bill46 Report post Posted September 12, 2015 Cognac it may be ! However, different dyes from different manufactures are called different names ! If you found something that resembles your color and its manufacturer ?(color, name, or number) ? use that ! Most likely that's as close as you will get without a long drawn out hunting process ! Good luck Wild Bill46
