Hi everyone, i notice that quite a few of your projects, stitching end in the final stitch wrapping around the edge of the project in a kinda loop, is there a reason for this or is it just a style thing

The main reason you'll see that is on an edge that gets a lot of stretch. For instance the open end of a cell phone case. It gets pulled the most so the wrap over the top keeps the leather from tearing from too much stress.

I do this a lot when working with oil tanned or chrome tanned leather, especially in the places where I've sewn two or more layers together, and always and at the bottom corners. I've been carrying the same bag around for the past 4 years and the exposed threads on the edges haven't shown a single bit of wear yet, so it seems to work ok. Plus, for me it's a style thing. That is, if 'utilitarian' can be called a style : )

I've only rarely done it and it was for utillitarian reasons rather than fasion(no doubt means I'm boring), so no thing wrong with it as a matter of style. If the threads hold up to the use it will get then go for it.GH
