Hi,

I have bought a singer 45k21 and the needle is scraping the shuttle frame causing the thread to brake after a few stitchings. Before it brakes it unravels.

I am using a 200 needle with a 10 thread.

Is this a easy to solve problem?

With regards, Dennis

Hi Muzisch, try another needle? is your needle bar straight? if you have taken the shuttle race apart, have a look to see if shuttle race ring is in the right way around? does the needle hit or rub against the needle plate when going in? could you send a close up? regards jimi.

Hi Jimi, Thanks for your reaction. About the needle: I would think this machine could handle the size, and larger? I've made some photo's, hope they help.

In the first picture the needle is hitting a backplate.

The second picture the needle is hitting the shuttle hook.

Hi muzisch, i meant try another needle in case the one you have in the machine could be bent. and it might be a good idea if you clean inside the shuttle race ring area.

That can be replaced easily.

PM me if you cannot find one.
