muzisch Report post Posted September 20, 2015 Hi, I have bought a singer 45k21 and the needle is scraping the shuttle frame causing the thread to brake after a few stitchings. Before it brakes it unravels. I am using a 200 needle with a 10 thread. Is this a easy to solve problem? With regards, Dennis
jimi Report post Posted September 20, 2015 (edited) Hi Muzisch, try another needle? is your needle bar straight? if you have taken the shuttle race apart, have a look to see if shuttle race ring is in the right way around? does the needle hit or rub against the needle plate when going in? could you send a close up? regards jimi. Hi Jimi, Thanks for your reaction. About the needle: I would think this machine could handle the size, and larger? I've made some photo's, hope they help. In the first picture the needle is hitting a backplate. The second picture the needle is hitting the shuttle hook. Picture 3 shows the shuttle driver
jimi Report post Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) Hi muzisch, i meant try another needle in case the one you have in the machine could be bent. and it might be a good idea if you clean inside the shuttle race ring area.
