Members cleanview Posted November 3, 2015 Members Report Posted November 3, 2015 How do you now if the there is to much pressure being applied when sewing? the two pieces of 8 ounce leather can visually be seen expanding from the squashing. Is it to much? I am assuming the pressure foot (if the right name) has some adjustment? Machine is a cowboy 3200 Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted November 3, 2015 Contributing Member Report Posted November 3, 2015 Gitcherself a couple pieces o scrap same thickness. You can back that off a bit (lefty loosey). Test on the scrap. Idea is to have enough pressure to hold the leather down so the needle can back out of the leather - and no more. If you backed it off too far, you'll start seeing skipped stitches, so just tighten slightly from there. It's simple enough.. thinner or thicker leather may need adjusting a bit.. that's what it's for. Quote

Members steelhawk Posted November 9, 2015 Members Report Posted November 9, 2015 You can also change the foot to the left sided one so it doesn't mark the holster up. You have to start it the right way so the missing leg is where you want it to be. Most of my stitching is done with the two sided foot, though, but I switch out if I need to. Quote
