Not really sure where to put this. I have to young kids a 2 year old and a 5 year old. They have both started wanting to sit on my lap and help with "holsters" (they think everything I make is a holster).

Anyway this got me thinking. Other thank key chains is there any other projects that I could do with my kids? Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome.

Thanks

There are always the leather bracelets as well. I remember loving to do those as a kid and if you can incorporate braiding into them even better. The 5 yr old would be a perfect age for the flat braids and different edge braids ... I dont remember what 3 is like anymore now that my daughter is grown. Not much in the way of construction but lots of opportunity for decoration.

I got my kids Moccasin kits from Tandy for Christmas when they were younger. They had fun putting them together and they wore them like slippers in the winter months.

I cut out belts for my kids and let them tool whatever they wanted on them. The 8 year old did an edge pattern, and the 6 year old and 5 year old wanted stars, go figure. They wear them all the time and the messy tooling isn't a problem for little kids.
