Members SbarKLeather Posted December 17, 2015 Members Report Posted December 17, 2015 Just seeing if anyone has a pattern for pickup man shin guards, and more looking for info or tips on what types of leather are best for cover and lining, and best kind of padding. I've worn them, just never paid a while lot of attention to all that. Thanks. Quote
stelmackr Posted December 17, 2015 Report Posted December 17, 2015 From a Google search, cause I don't know: Shinguards made of 10 to 12 oz. yellow latigo¸ lined with 4 oz. chap leather. 1/2 inch low density foam in between for protection on these pick-up man shin guards Quote

Members emcniel Posted December 20, 2015 Members Report Posted December 20, 2015 I would use the same patter as archeryarm guards and do a pig or kangaroo limning if you want a more padding i would say sheep or rabbit. i have some patterns for those if you like. Quote
Members SbarKLeather Posted December 20, 2015 Author Members Report Posted December 20, 2015 These are a completely different set up, much more heavy duty, covering a much larger area, and have to be able to absorb the blow of a kick from a buckin horse so they need a rubber or foam padding in them.
