Albob Posted May 7, 2016 Report Posted May 7, 2016 I want to be able to make a few card wallets for friends from my Army days. (1973-1975) so I would like to dye my leather OD Green. All I'm able to come up with is mixing acrylics but cant come up with a dye that will work for my project. Any ideas of any one know of a supplier? Thanks in advance. Members SolarLeatherMachines Posted May 7, 2016 Members Report Posted May 7, 2016 Angelus does a Kelly green, but I've always had my best luck by mixing feibings dyes. I use a laboratory dropper to get precise mixtures according to a recipe I keep notes on. Quote Alexander
Members Wild Bill46 Posted May 8, 2016 Members Report Posted May 8, 2016 Maybe ? Seems, I saw someplace recently, there was a new Feibings green dye out ? There are so many colors in alcohol base now, If so, It would also seem, you might be able to dirty it up a bit with other like dye colors and come out with a shade of olive drab ? Haven't seen it, or looked for it myself, Might be worth looking into though. ? Might have been, I heard of it from Tandy ? A Google search lead me to a Fiebings Leather Dye color chart, which lists Kelly Green, Green, and Aqua Green ! Sorry this info is not of any precise help ! --- Wild Bill46 Quote
Members Studio-N Posted May 9, 2016 Members Report Posted May 9, 2016 the Fiebings Green Oil Dye is an excellent color. Check with Springfield leather, they carry all the colors of Oil Dye. Quote "Out of my mind.....back in 5 minutes"
