This is kind of an educated guess.

Fiebings mahogany oil dye , diluted, then airbrushed.

I haven't airbrushed anything and I haven't achieved that color  with mahogany yet. But I continue to try.

Burgundy???

Is that your lighter color?

If it is I have been trying to get that color with, well, the wrong color.

yeah burgundy, diluted and airbrushed  in multiple layers. then black airbrushed from the outside edge working my way in. I want it to be more of the purplish hue. I've even though possibly maroon or oxblood

Straight oxblood is real purple-y to me. Maybe a drop or three in the burgundy will get you closer?

awesome I will try that. I like how deep the holster looks and how the finish appears wet. the sheath I done is finished with mop n global but couldn't achieve the glossy look

Awesome! I don't really want the glossy look for the things I am currently working on.

was going to suggest maybe oxblood and burgundy mix maybe though not sure how much of each you would have to play with that but I do not airbrush so could not tell you how well that might work.

I don't usually airbrush either, it was just an attempt  of taking the black I to the burgundy color.
