Members Austyn Posted October 2, 2016 Members Report Posted October 2, 2016 Hello there, I use Herman Oak leather to make belts, collars, Etc. I'm wondering if their is any other leather I could use to craft these products. I very much do enjoy dying, waxing and conditioning the leather myself. Herman Oak seems to be the best I can find todo this. Any idea? Thanks Austyn Quote
Troy I Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Try Wickett & Craig in Curwensville, PA Quote
MADMAX22 Posted October 3, 2016 Report Posted October 3, 2016 (edited) What is the reason your wanting to change leathers? You could try Wickett and Craig to see if you like there leather any better. They are both about equal in leather quality IMHO just slightly different. Edited October 3, 2016 by MADMAX22 Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted October 3, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted October 3, 2016 (edited) I DO like HO leather, but truth is if I was in PA, I'd likely be at Wickett / Craig more often than I already am. Their skirting dyes and finishes quite well, forms and tools good too. As a rule, I find the W/C natural color to be slightly brighter (lighter color) than HO. Good texture to it.
