How to wrap leather with leather rope.

Interested in making a leather bracelet, that used small leather rope to lash the ends together

,but dont know how to do it.has anybody ever done this kind of wrap.

or know where i can get some more info on this type of work,i added a picture.thanks......

If you google the term "rope lashing" you can find information on this.

It actually is only one great big overhand knot, . . . with the ends pulled together between the two layers, . . . and is the technique that for centuries, sailors have made eyes on the ends of rope for lashing, tying, and for lasso's, . . . 

And BTW, . . . that is a cute bracelet, . . . thanks for sharing.

In the UK the technique is known as "whipping" and is usually restricted to rope-work, yours is the first example I've seen done with leather cord, I would have thought that using that would have proven to be too "grippy" in passing the thonging beneath to finish off . . you have me thinking now as to where I can use this idea.  Thank you.

Yes, nice bespoke design and the use of a bow shackle makes this very suitable for Steam Punk too!

Looks like waxed nylon braided cord to me.  Don't see it as being leather at all.  I use a similar technique as a finishing wrap on handlebar wraps, using twine for it.
