Members ScottyBallz Posted October 22, 2016 Members Report Posted October 22, 2016 Hey everyone, Im going to pick up my singer 111w153 on monday. I purchased it along with a servo motor and gear reducer, so i'm pretty excited to use it. I was going through the service manual online and it says to use type B or D oil. I found singer sewing machine oil on Amazon but nothing that is Type B or D. so, I was wondering what you guys use for your singer 111w's. Thanks! Quote
Members TinkerTailor Posted October 23, 2016 Members Report Posted October 23, 2016 (edited) Standard white sewing machine oil (Lilly White)is fine. If you bought the machine from a dealer, get them to throw in a jug if you can. If not, any of the dealers that advertise on this site can sell ya some. Edited October 23, 2016 by TinkerTailor Quote
Members dikman Posted October 24, 2016 Members Report Posted October 24, 2016 Considering how long ago these 111 machines were made, I'm not sure that "type B or D" is relevant any more, as oils have developed lots since then! As TT says, if you can get the Lilly White stuff you can't really go wrong. Quote
