Uwe Report post Posted November 21, 2016 Many manufacturers of sewing hooks use a mark to identify they made it. I recognize many of the marks but not all. I think it might be useful to have a little visual look-up reference to identify the manufacturer of a hook based on the mark. I hope people will add to this reference, ideally with an image of the company name and logo and an example or two of the actual mark on a hook. I'm starting this topic in part hoping to figure out which shuttle hook manufacturer uses this mark: I'll get the ball rolling by adding a couple hook manufacturers that I know of. KAW = KOCHS ADLER WERKE (Nowadays Dürkopp-Adler) This one is from NÄHMATAG = Nähmaschinenteile AG (Radebeul, East Germany) or from 1953 onward NÄHMATAG Nähmaschinenteile GmbH, (Aachen, West Germany) Company no longer exists but at least on my side of the pond you find this mark them quite frequently on different sewing machine parts Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Constabulary Report post Posted January 5, 2017 (edited) One more NTW = Nähmaschinenteilewerk (VEB NTW Dresden) A former GDR company (East Germany) which produced small sewing machine & parts. Co, still exist but is not making parts anymore. They are now specialized in hardening metal parts.
