Members jake210c Posted December 5, 2016 Members Report Posted December 5, 2016 can anyone help me achieve this two tone marbling effect? Thanks! Quote
Members TinkerTailor Posted December 5, 2016 Members Report Posted December 5, 2016 Multiple applications of thinned dye, perhaps with more than one colour, brushed or sponged on. It can take a few coats to get the tonality and hide the application streaks. Btw the streaks in the individual coats layer on each other to get the marbling. Even application is not necessarily the key here. Other faster way is with an airbrush. Quote "If nobody shares what they know, we will eventually all know nothing." And... there you have it. Brown or chocolate dye, sprayed around the edges, over a piece of leather with wrinkles. Seriously, a child can do this. I really must do a video showing how to do this, since people seem so determined to watch videos. Should take about 30 seconds or so.... Quote "Observation is 9/10 of the law." Contributing Member JLSleather Posted December 5, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted December 5, 2016 Man, was I way off. Took 3 mins to do a holster and mag pouch (not 30 seconds). Video available shortly .. no subscription required Quote "Observation is 9/10 of the law." IF what you do is something that ANYBODY can do, then don't be surprised when ANYBODY does.
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted December 5, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted December 5, 2016 I think this will cover the theory.. just my leather lacks wrinkles https://youtu.be/OMVHrTPf1AQ Quote "Observation is 9/10 of the law." You're lighting was too good, the video wasn't long enough, and next time I better hear some kids crying in the background. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. Members klaykrusher Posted December 6, 2016 Members Report Posted December 6, 2016 I'm very confused by this video...I need (expect) at least 35 minutes of explanation of what you are going to do before actually doing it....then another 35 minutes to explain what you just did....lol... Even though flawed...I am a new subscriber.... Quote ~Dave
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted December 6, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted December 6, 2016 I did explain it -- it's to show folks what to do with downloaded holster patterns Gotta curb teh subscriptions, tho.. too many and there goes the weight of my talk about "no subscription necessary"....
