Members Brown64 Posted December 12, 2016 Members Report Posted December 12, 2016 This is a practice piece because I've never tried faces before. Any advice would be appreciated. Is the way I highlighted it okay, or do you think I should color it? This is going to be a part of a picture I'm carving on my mothers Bible cover. Quote
Members LeatherWorthy Posted December 12, 2016 Members Report Posted December 12, 2016 That looks really good! Keep it up! Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted December 12, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted December 12, 2016 You could color it if you like, but fact is it looks good as is. Expand I was thinking the same thing looks kind of like natural but with a little more rendering. Thanks for the advice that's what I'm going with. Quote
MADMAX22 Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 I agree leave it as is. Looks great. Quote
Members Halitech Posted December 13, 2016 Members Report Posted December 13, 2016 only thing that looks weird to me is the eye. I think it's supposed to be a closed eye but the angle just doesn't look right. Other then that, looks great Quote Every day you learn something is a good day. If you don't learn something every day, was it worth waking up for?

I have a great deal to learn on photography. I have been looking at some of the threads on here that talk about a light box I think that is something I need to look into closer. Thanks for the nice compliment, and advice much appreciated. Quote

Members TheModifier Posted December 15, 2016 Members Report Posted December 15, 2016 if you re-case it you may be able to use a modelling spoon to move the eye area to your liking. Quote

Expand Thanks for the advice, however this is just a practice piece to see if I could do faces. The real thing is going to be on a bible cover with him holding a baby, and I'll take more care to get the eye right then. I think I just burnished a little too deep, and made it more obvious than it should be. Here is a pic without the glare. Edited December 15, 2016 by Brown64 Clarification Quote
