Members Mattsbagger Posted January 9, 2017 Members Report Posted January 9, 2017 I bought a Montana side from Tandy. Predyed all the way through. It's veg tan. Burnishes, stamps, doesn't repel water. SO...... I put a coat of Aussie on it used a little heat and time but it doesn't soak in OR wipe off.Its been 12 hrs now and you can see where I've wiped my finger across it. Also trying to buff it off seems to have taken the grain of the leather away. I'm just not sure what to do next. Quote
Members Dwight Posted January 9, 2017 Members Report Posted January 9, 2017 What did you want to do with it to start with??? May God bless, Dwight Quote If you can breathe, . . . thank God. Members Mattsbagger Posted January 9, 2017 Author Members Report Posted January 9, 2017 Just cut it out of the side. It was fairly soft. Cut a corner off that was messed up and checked if it stamped and burnished. Put some water on it soaked in and darkened. So I figured need to put a water resistant finish as its going to be a tote bag. The dye is all the way through it. Quote
Members Mattsbagger Posted January 9, 2017 Author Members Report Posted January 9, 2017 What about putting Leather balm or carnauba cream over the top? Quote
