Members Brianm77 Posted January 26, 2017 Members Report Posted January 26, 2017 I wanted to give props to a business. I found a very close alternative to tiger thread and a place that has started carrying it. It is called Serabraid made by Amann group. I have placed a couple orders now from southwest sewing machines out of Houston (713-977-6567 ask for Elizabeth) they have started keeping a few rolls on hand. I just placed an order for a color they did not have on hand but I guess the wholesaler in the states did, on Thursday or Friday and already have it on Monday. And maybe the best part is 2 500M rolls shipped come to $54. The size 1000 t90 is nearly identicle to 1.0mm tiger thread. And Southwest Sewing Machines has been an absolute pleasure to deal with if you sounds like something you are looking for give em a call. I have been so happy with the company I told them I would try to send a couple people her way. P.S. for some reason the top looks funny cause I copied a post that I put on another board. Quote

Members SolarLeatherMachines Posted February 13, 2017 Members Report Posted February 13, 2017 We carry the Amann thread as well. The Serabraid is super nice. However, all colors are not available in all sizes from Amann, so you'll have to call and check for each size & color combination. Quote Alexander

Contributing Member 24VOLTS Posted February 16, 2017 Contributing Member Report Posted February 16, 2017 How close is the Amann thread to Tiger thread? Is it bonded polyester? Is it is flat and waxed like tiger? I wish tiger had a couple more colors. Other then that I really like tiger. Thanks, Phill Quote
