Has any one used this? It says it's linseed oil based vs alcohol. Wondered if it was worth a try.

I have not used the stain, but have used the dye. It works as well as the alcohol based, for me anyways. Another point that may not matter, is that because it isn't flammable, you can ship it cheaper. Whenever I have to order the dyes, it costs me more because it has to be shipped ground. Just make sure your leather is thoroughly cleaned before applying it.

The stain works purdy good.  Wipe on with a soft cloth, wipe off... wah lah :o

I don't use a lot of it (old dog, old tricks?) but I've got good results with the mahogany, black, and walnut.  It's quite thick...not warm jelly and not cold syrup, but somewheres in there ;)

Very consistent colors.

Honestly, ya know whata fella otta do... I really like the look of leather done with WOOD stain.  Check out some of the holsters (and other projects) on here by fgabesz... the coloring itself is an art... very nicely done.

Really nice, tends to come out more even than the alcohol based dye and smells lovely going on.

Only complaint is that with the alcohol base if I make any mistakes or need to strip it back I use a bit of alcohol or acetone and I can erase the mistake, the oil based is less forgiving.
